Abstract

The article considers efficient method of clustering in a wireless sensor network using fuzzy logic based on input variables such as the quality of the received signal, node concentration, remaining energy and node centrality. This method also combines the advantages
of Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH). The structure of simulated wireless sensor network and fuzzy logic apparatus is presented. A comparison of the proposed method with the clustering protocols LEACH and LEACH-FL had been made. Modeling
of Wireless sensor network and fuzzy logic controller was carried out in Matlab software environment. For comparison with the protocols of LEACH and LEACH-FL used the network dimensions of 100×100 with the 20 selected nodes. As a result of modeling and comparison it was revealed that the proposed clustering algorithm has a higher speed and low power consumption and, therefore, allows to increase the lifetime of the wireless sensor network. This clustering method can be used in any wireless sensor networks, regardless of their scope.
